Knit Alteration and Design
Introduction to Handy Form and Mailing Label

JULY 2010 NOTICE: We are now scheduling alterations and repairs into MARCH 2011. This said, we welcome your sweaters and other knit items if you can afford such a wait.

Please read the following before proceeding:

  1. We work on knit items only. Sorry, we do not do reweaving of woven fabric. If it's a knit, you've come to the right place!
  2. If items are in need of cleaning, it is best to have this done before they are sent. If items are reasonably clean, it is fine to send them.
  3. Pin or place tape next to all areas that need repair. Please do not put tape on holes.
  4. Sweaters that have more than 10 moth holes will probably cost over $100.00 to be repaired. Use this link to see our page on sweater and moth hole repair for more information on the cost of repairs.
  5. It is best to put items in a plastic bag or a second box before putting them in the shipping container. We also suggest that you put your completed form in one of the plastic bags with one of the items.
  6. When sending items from outside the US, refer to the garments as 'used clothing' at a minimum value, on customs declarations to minimize duty charges.
