APRIL 2024

Most items with minor damage are being returned within 2-3 months.

Items with several holes and/or alterations are being scheduled into late summer of 2024.

Sandy's Tip ~

Many of us who live in places with distinctly different seasons store our winter items to make room for summer items. Even if you do not feel the need to store your winter items, if you have many cashmere, woolen and other natural fiber items, spring is a good time to check their condition and determine if they need cleaning, repair and/or storing.

Quality of service
is our guiding principle.
Hello,

If you have a wool or cashmere sweater in need of repair, you have come to the right place. We work exclusively on knit clothing made from natural fibers

For over 30 years we have provided quality repair and alteration of knit clothing to stores and retail customers. Our skills and experience with machine made knits are unique in today's garment repair and reweaving services.

Fine wool, cashmere and other natural fiber sweaters can be repaired and altered with great success!  This includes brand names like Loro Piana, Dale of Norway, Hermes, White and Warren and many more.

Repairs are generally made by expert reknitting with yarn from the garment, which produces excellent results. Check out our Sweater Repair page for more on how repairs are made and cost information.

Alteration of sweater sleeves and hems happen every week here at Knit Alteration & Design. When done, the items look just like they did originally, they are just the right length! For more about how alterations are made and the average costs, see our Knit Alterations page.

The easiest way to send your items is to print our Handy Form and Mailing Label to send with your items. Or you may include a note with your contact information including: your name, address, phone number and email with a simple description of the items you are sending and what you need done. Send to:
